I Don’t Know What We’ll Call It, But Let’s Go Ahead And Shoot It Anyway!

Here’s a look at four movies in various stages of development or production that don’t have titles yet. Let’s see which ones are worth the bother…

UNTITLED LOWRIDER PIC – Peruvian director Ricardo de Montreuil and Universal Pictures present a story about a young man from Pacoima who builds a street cruiser in his best friend’s memory.

@ – Whatever that means. I see why they’re having trouble figuring out what to call it. How about, “The Movie That No One Will Want To See”? Next.

UNTITLED “THE THING” PREQUEL – A group of scientists in Antarctica discover an alien spaceship. When they drill inside to study it, they inadvertently thaw and set loose a frozen “thing” that attacks them. Currently undergoing reshoots, with its release date postponed from April to October. John Carpenter has nothing to to with this.

@@ – You call that a prequel? Could have fooled me. Has the exact same plot as the original two. That’s called a remake, which is another word for unoriginal. That doesn’t mean it won’t be improved, so I’ll keep an open mind.

UNTITLED CBGB BIOPIC – From the people who brought us BOTTLE SHOCK, this movie will tell the story of the famed punk rock club of the 1980s run by Hilly Kristal. The story will highlight artists like the Talking Heads, the Ramones and Blondie and explore the club’s impact on the underground music scene. Starts shooting next summer.

@@@ – Good topic for a biopic and BOTTLE SHOCK was pretty good. Go for it!

UNTITLED “BENJI” REBOOT – Brandon Camp, son of the original creator of the BENJI fanchise, will write, produce and direct a big screen reboot about the lovable stray dog who got to jump into a bathtub with a naked Jane Seymour in one of his five theatrical films. Walden Media is producing the project.

@@@@ – What can I say. I’m a dog lover and I have a soft spot for Benji. The original was cheaply made and cheesy, but it’s got heart.
