Made In Dagenham

Michael the Moviegoer – @@

It looks like “Norma Rae” in the UK. Unfortunately, the film is set in one of those UK cities where the people speak with an accent so thick that American audiences will require subtitles to understand the dialogue, which the film will probably not supply. The story doesn’t seem compelling enough for me to make the effort and try to understand the dialogue.

Terrance the Trailer Trasher – @@

The story sounds compelling to me, but I’m more compelled to read about it than to learn about it through this cutesy, overly light-hearted sitcommy execution. “Calendar Girls” was just okay. I’m not compelled to see “Norma Rae” translated to that style.

Makes its way to US theatres on November 19, 2010.

Next we’ll look at a trailer for a foreign film in which Isabelle Huppert struggles to make coffee.
