Terrance the Trailer Trasher – @

Looks like “District 9” meets “Cloverfield.” Looks like it’s going to be a lot of people running around in the dark breathing heavy. It doesn’t look like it’s going to have characters I’ll care about. It doesn’t look like much thought went into making this.

Michael the Moviegoer – @@

If the film really is “utterly unique and original” as the trailer says, then why couldn’t they make a trailer that is equally unique? What they’ve done is to create a trailer that makes this supposedly original film look like zillions of other space-alien monster movies. I’m still waiting for some daring marketer to come up with a unique and original way of cutting a trailer. This just looks boring.

“Monsters” will be available to download on demand this Friday, then opens in theatres on October 29.

Tomorrow we’ll review Robert De Niro and Edward Norton in the trailer for “Stone.”

To add o your reviews, I know I am a movie snob but another turn-off for the film is that it stars no one I know and you are totally right–it doesn’t look new or original. And since we have done the aliens/monster this in better looking movies, there is zero incentive for me to see it in the theatre.
